"Off with his head"

So I finally made it to see 'Alice in Wonderland' last night! I thought it was going to be really good since it had Johnny Depp in it and it was directed by Tim Burton and I was right! I loved every minute of it. If you get a chance to see it in 3-D then that is the way to go becuase it feels like you are in the movie and it makes everything pop!

This Alice in Wonderland is a little different then all the other ones out there. This one takes place when Alice is 20 years old. The day of her engagement party she follows a white rabit and yep she falls down a rabbot hole. At first she thinks that it is all a dream since she has been having the same one since she was a little girl. Everybody in wonderland has been waiting fornher to return so she could save them from the red queen who has taken over and had cut off quite a few heads! At first Alice does not think she is the right Alice to do this, but slowly she starts to believe that she is the right one.

The story is pretty typical, but the characters make it fun! I'm in love with Chesire and the Hatter! All the colors pop and you really get caught up in the movie.

The day of sequals

The other night I watched a couple of movie and they both so happened to be sequals! I didn't even plan it that way :)

The first movie I watched was Cabin Fever 2 : Spring Fever. I'm in love with the first one so I just had to check this one out even though Eli Roth was not the director. Of course it was not as good as the first one, but it was decent and it could have been so much worse.

It starts out right where the first one left off and the only characters brought from the first one is killed off within the first 5 minutets. This time bottles of water are shipped to a high school. People are drinking the water and sloly stuff starts happing like people losing fingenails and such. Everything seems to happen at the senior prom when a janitor decides to pee in some punch, but his pee turns into blood which I'm guessing make the disease that much fater. There are some nasty bits in there that made me cringe, but thats part of the fun. I would watch the original before seeing this and make sure to stay after the credits or you are going to miss something!

I then watched Halloween 2 (the Rob Zombie version) which is another movie that is best to watch the original first just so that you know whats going on! I was not a big fan of the first one, but then one was a little better but not by much. I'm still going to stick with the old school versions since they are so much better!

It has been two years since Laurie was last attacked and when she shot Michael in the head, of course the body was never found. Laurie is living with Annie and her dad and is trying to deal with everything that happend that night. She keeps having nightmares and attacks which seem to get worse when she finds out that she is really Michael's sister. As for Michael he is making his way to her and killing anybody that gets in his way and this is the most that I have ever seen him without his mask! With the way it ended I'm sure there is going to be antother one out soon and hopefully that one will be better.

Shutter Island

I got to go to a screening of Shutter Island last night and I was so excited since I have what seems like forever for this movie to come. After seeing it I'm thinking maybe I should not have been that excited. Don't get me wrong it was not a bad movie just not as good as I thought it was going to be. The acting was great, but I did not expect anything less considering the cast. This was just the type of movie that by the time it ended you were more confused then when it started and you want to watch it again just so you know what is going on. I think this is a movie to wait until it comes to dvd. I was not the only one who thought that either. I was talking to guy that sat by me after it and he thought the same thing!
Stutter island is about two deputy marshals, Teddy (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck (Mark Ruffalo), who are on their way to Stutter Island. They were called out to investigate the disperance of a patient there who just vanished out of her room and they can not find her anywhere on the island. When they get there it seems like everybody is lying and trying to cover something up. Teddy thinks that she had a lot of help to escape and that a doctor who is on vactation is the prime suspect. But when the patient is found everything seems to get a whole lot more complicated. Teddy is trying to find a patient there that killed his wife even though no record of him exisits and to find out what is really happing at Stutter Island.
Like I said the acting was great, but it seemed like there was to much going on which kept you on your toes. If you read the book it will be a little clearer and the movie is very close to the book which is nice becuase now a days it seems like movies don't even consider their source material. The ending is the same as the the book expect for a little something extra which I enjoyed.

She's Out of My League

I went to an advance screening last night of 'She's Out of My League' to be honest I haven't heard that much about it before I got my passes. I looked at the trailer and thought it looked funny. Well I was right baout that! At least I thought so. It is not a movie for everybody. It's more for people that like sex comedies. It kind of reminded me of American Pie in ways.
It's about Kirk (Jay Baruchel) who works airport security and dreams about becoming a pilot. Everybody has always called him a loser of a 5 on the point scale. It seems like even his family prefers his ex-girlfriend over him. That all seems to change when an attractive woman named Molly ( Alice Eve) comes through security and forgets her cell phone. She wants Kirk to keep it until she gets back into town. He agrees and meets her when she gets back to return the phone. Doing that she thanks him by giving him tickets to a hockey game that she ends up going to also. From there they start to go on a series of dates. Molly seems to really like him, but Kirk can not get over the fact that somebody like her can like somebody like him. It really starts to bother him and it seems to put their reltionship in jepordary.
This movie is somewhat predictable, but I liked all the characters and it kept me laughing though the whole thing which is good. My favorite parts seemed to be when Patty (Krysten Ritter) was on, she seemed to steal every scene that she was in. This is good to see if you just want a good laugh!

Vampire Academy #4

Blood Promise is the 4th book in the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. This is a great series that you get sucked into and it seems like it keeps getting better!

This go around Rose has left St. Vladimir's to go to Russia to hunt down Dimitri who had been turned into a Strigoi. In the process she has to leave her best friend Lissa who she has been bonded with. Rose does not want to leave, but she can not stand the thought of Dimitri running around as a Strigoi. Her journey is not what she planned it to be and she has no idea where to start looking for Dimitri, but as fates have it she ends up at his house where she is the barrier of bad news who had to tell his family that he died.

She stays at his home for awhile and even considers living there, but she can ot shake the promise that she once made Dimitri. She ends up meeting fellow damphires and she goes to the city to hunt Striogi. Her hunting them leads her face to face with Dimitri. It is much harder for Rose to kill him then she thought so she ends up being held captive and turning into a blood whore. Eventually she decides that she can not stay this way forever so she has to decide if she wants to try to escape when all the odds seems against her or become a Strigoi so that she can been with Dimitri forever.

I thought this was a great book and it is a fsat read since you can not wait to see what happens next. If your a fan of the series then this book will not disapoint, but if not then you need to start reading now. I just can't believe that I have to wait until May until the next book, but I'm sure it will be worth it.

Yesterday

Yesterday was an eventful day I suspose. It started out normally enough. I went to work like I always do and then for lunch Sandy and I went out to eat. We went to Cafe Oasis where we have eaten at for the last two times. Yep it is yummuy! This time I got the seasme tofu which I was not to sure about since this was going to be my first time eating tofu. Well I am not in love with it cause it is so good. Now I want to try other things that have it in and hopefully it will be just as good. Plus I would not mind learing how to cook with it. Then we went to a few stores and got more stuff that I did not need. After that it seemed like work just zipped by which is a great thing since that never happens.
When I got off I went and picked up Anna and then we went bowling since I had a free game coupon and it expires soon. I really thought we were getting a deal until the lady told us the price of the shoe rental! I thought it was just crazy, but oh well we paid it. Bowling was really fun even though I lost :( but I have not been in a while so it was a nice change for once. Then it was off to Crossroads becuase I had a coupon to get some free prefume at Victoria's Secret which I thought they were going to be much bigger, but oh well I can't complain to much because they were free and they all smell so good. I haven't figured out yet which one is my favorite! Then they were having a clearance at Hot Topic so of course I could not pass that up and I got quite a bit for not all that much. Yay! I love that store!
Then I saw in the paper that they were going to have this free art preview thing at this museum and I really wanted to see it so we went. Well somehow I looked at the date wrong and itwasn't until tomorrow night! I was thinking something was wrong when we were walking into the museum and everybody that we saw were wearing prom dresses and tuxs, but I thought they just wanted to dress up a little.Well I was wrong there to cause they were having a ball there. No wonder we kept getting dirty look! But hey at least it wasn't a complete waste cause I got to see a snowman and a man in a kilt with his bagpipe and it was something to laugh at. Gosh I can be so ditzy sometimes!
So anyways we ended up at the Elephant Bar to eat, it took a while for us to be seated but it was worth it cause the pasta that I got was so good and then I got this Pomangrate Champainge Cocktail whichs sounded really good. Then I got it and it was so pretty and it smelled good, but the taste? Not so much! It was so nasty and just so stong. Well I didn't want to let it go to waste so I just drunk it really fast which probally was not the best idea since my stomach hurt for the rest of the night. I'm susprised that I did not get sick! That taught me to never order that drink again :)
So the rest of the night was pretty relaxing. Watched Zombieland for the millionth time! I just love that movie and it just cracks me up to no end. I think I might watch it again tonight, we shall she! Then since she wanted to watch True Blood we watched a few episodes of that! It is such a good show, but I just wish that they would hurry up and put the second season on dvd cause I want to see. sometimes it sucks not to have HBO, but at least I have Showtime and thats all that matters!
